home, sweet home

animated video “home, sweet home” was created in cooperation with hitchhiker films and directed by dano dekan. it’s a short story aimed for the youngest audience about a small bird kiwi that is helping his friend – small gingerbread – to find a new home. kiwi engaged a whole city, the other animals lent a hand, and, in the end, small gingerbread had his own family.

“home, sweet home” is a 2d animated video made with a cut-out animation technique. the art design and layouts were done digitally, but some details are helping to create an impression of a hand-drawn background. since the video is primarily targeted for the youngest audience, the animation is stylized and simplified, and the movement of animals is simulating human movement. the video is part of a bigger series of animated videos and other online content about the main character – kiwi.
